Alamo Colleges' Students Compete in SkillsUSA Texas Championships
More than 400 students from community and technical colleges around the state, including the Alamo Colleges, competed in the 2009 SkillsUSA Texas College/Postsecondary Division Skills and Leadership Championships, Thursday, March 26 through Saturday, March 28, at St. Philip's College's Southwest Campus, 800 Quintana Road. Students tested their skills in more than 80 different categories, including robotics, crime scene investigation, TV news anchoring, welding, web design, aviation maintenance, diesel equipment technology and automotive technology. First place winners will advance to the national competition in Kansas City June 21-26.
