Palo Alto College to Host Sneak Dvd Preview of “Yo Soy/I Am: The San Antonio Gallista Community”

SAN ANTONIO—Palo Alto College will host a “Sneak DVD Preview” of Yo soy/I am: The San Antonio Gallista Community featuring the works of prominent San Antonio artists, in its Fine Arts building lecture hall, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m.

The Yo soy/I am series is part of an Arizona State University Hispanic Research Center project documenting the work and careers of Chicana/o artists, featuring interviews with artists who have made significant contributions.

The DVD features the works of José Esquivel, Xavier Garza, Luis “Chispas” Guerrero, Celina Hinojosa, Joe López, Roberto Sifuentes, and Deborah Vasquez. All the artists have been invited to attend and some of their works will be on display.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will follow the presentation. Books will be available for purchase.
