Northwest Vista College Testing Center Rated "Exemplary"
According to a recent audit, The Northwest Vista College ACT testing center is an "exemplary" site among 200 ACT testing sites nationwide with no recommendations for improvement.
"This is a wonderful achievement," says NVC Dean of Corporate and Community Development Deb Morgan, "and it is due, for the most part, to the tireless efforts of Assessment Coordinator Abel Ruiz and Assessment Technician Maja Gerdin."
Corporate and Community development launched a partnership with the ACT and the Northwest Vista College testing center two years ago to provide comprehensive online testing and training services to businesses and individuals. Since the launch, the testing center has expanded its services to include licensure exams such as the Registered Dietician exam, the American Social Work Board exam, the Transportation Security Administration exam and the Nuclear Medicine exam.
In addition, the center offers ESL testing, CLEP, makeup exams, the Texas Higher Education Assessment Exam and correspondence exams.
One year after the center began expanding its offerings, the number of testers grew by 361%; This year, the center is expecting more than a 70% increase from last year.
"Our testing center strives to maintain the highest standards," Morgan said. "This recognition lets us know we are meeting our goals."
