Northwest Vista College to Add New Off-Site Location

Summer enrollment at Northwest Vista College is up again by 29% since last year. To accommodate this growth and to provide students with additional flexibility, NVC has added a new off-site location in the Medical Center.

"A large number of our students live in the Medical Center area," explains Northwest Vista College president Jacqueline Claunch. "This will provide them with a more convenient location, yet allow them the same high-quality education they have grown to expect."

Thirty-eight different classes will be offered at Northwest Vista College Medical Center, located at 5115 Medical Drive, starting this fall. Many of the courses will be linked, which means that students must register for two separate courses that meet at back-to-back time slots. "Linked courses allow the same students to remain together for different classes," explains English Instructor Barbara Griest-Devora. "We know these learning communities have a positive influence on students and encourage them to stay with their learning programs."
