Palo Alto College Offers Certified Nursing Associate Training
Palo Alto College’s Continuing Education Department is offering the first Certified Nursing Associate (CNA) class to the Southside Community. The class begins Aug. 23 and ends Oct. 2.
Students will be prepared for entry level positions as certified nursing assistants, and graduates will be qualified to provide essential basic care to long-term care facility residents. The CNA class will meet for six weeks on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6-10 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Palo Alto College. Tuition is $362. The course is sanctioned by the Texas Department of Human Services.
After completing their CNA, students will be required to complete clinical training to apply learned occupational theory, skills, and concepts. The tuition is $229 for the clinical training. Students will meet Saturdays from 8:30 - 1:30 p.m. at a local nursing home. Both classes qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEU’s). Student financial assistance is available for qualified students.
