ALAMO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTS NEW OFFICERS
The Alamo Community College District Board of Trustees elected new officers at their regular August meeting. Charles Conner was elected chairman. Roberto Zarate was elected vice chair; Gary Beitzel was elected as board secretary and Jennifer Ramos will serve as assistant secretary.
"It is an honor and privilege to work with my fellow board members, our colleges and our new administrators," said Conner. "These are exciting times at the Alamo Community College District and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as chairman of this outstanding board."
Conner was elected to represent District 7 on the board in June of 2002. He is chair
of the board’s building, grounds and sites selection committee and is a member of the legal affairs committee.
Zarate was appointed by the board to fill the District 5 seat in August of 2003. He was subsequently elected to the District 5 position in May of this year. He serves on the board's policy and long range planning committee and the student retention, recruitment and remediation committee.
Beitzel was elected to the board for District 8 in June 2002. He is chairman of the board’s policy and long range planning committee and a member of the building, grounds and sites selection committee and the budget and finance committee.
Ramos was elected to represent District 3 on the board in May of this year.
