ST. PHILIP’S COLLEGE TO OFFER FUEL CELL COURSES THIS SPRING

St. Philip's College will take the next step in the integration of alternative energy into its science and technology curricula with the introduction of a new course in fuel cells in the spring 2005 semester. “Fuel Cells: A Comprehensive Survey of Basic Principles, including Potential Environmental and Societal Implications,” will be offered by the Division of Continuing Education as an introductory non-credit course on fuel cell technology and the various issues related to its applications as an alternative energy source.

“Fuel Cells: A Comprehensive Survey” is a course designed for anyone with an interest in fuel cells, environmental issues, renewable energy, alternative energy sources, and the implications of these changes on society. The course has no prerequisites and will be offered twice during the spring semester: in February (8, 10, 15 and 17) and in April (5, 7, 12 and 14). Classes will meet for two hours, from 6 to 8 p.m., and will feature lectures, audio-visual presentations and demonstrations. Students will be awarded certificates of completion upon completing the course.
