ST. PHILIP'S COLLEGE INTRODUCES INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL SECRETARY COURSE
St. Philip's College will introduce a new special topics course for administrative assistants interested in preparing for
the internationally recognized Certified Professional Secretary exam when the college kicks off its spring 2003 semester
in January. The new course will be offered beginning Jan. 18.
Students who enroll in the Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) course will have the option of earning either college
credit or continuing education units. The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) recognizes a
CPS rating as the international standard of proficiency in the administrative profession. St. Philip's is offering the
review courses in a series of 16 six-hour sessions, enabling students to finish in time to take the next CPS examination
scheduled for May 3, 2003.
The course focuses on the three major areas covered in the CPS exam, including management (behavioral science in business,
human resources, and organizational behavior), office administration (technology and administration), and finance
(economics, accounting, and business law). For more information on the Certified Professional Secretary program, call
Jean S. Nettelfield, coordinator of the St. Philip's College Corporate and Entrepreneurial Training Center, at 531-3462.
