SAC Honors Students Host Fundraiser to Benefit The American Cancer Society

Phi Theta Kappa Beta Nu, the student honor society chapter of San Antonio College, will host the second annual "Rock to Fight Cancer" fundraiser benefiting the American Cancer Society at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, at Sam's Burger Joint, 330 E. Grayson St.

Also hosting will be Sam's Burger Joint and Spencer Sloan of the band Kyle Factor. Other rock bands that will perform include Missing Andy, Nebraska, and Teliskas. There is no cover charge, but a suggested donation of $5 and all other proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

The annual event began last year after Sloan's aunt was diagnosed with ovarian cancer years earlier. Sloan enlisted the support of band members, including Eric Caldera, former SAC student and Phi Theta Kappa Beta Nu alumnus, to create the fundraiser.
