Debborah is a single mother of three girls ages 10, 5, and 2; she is currently attending Northwest Vista College majoring in History; maintaining a grade point average of 3.526.
Debborah has headed the Civil Rights portion for the MOAS (Model of American States), representing Northwest Vista at a workshop held in Monterrey, Mexico and St. Mary’s University. Furthermore, Debborah represented Northwest Vista College at the Juneteenth Celebration held by colleges and universities in San Antonio.
Debborah also established Northwest Vista College’s first History Club, which she is the president.
In addition, she helped coordinate events for Women’s History Month. Such events include a presentation of Women Inventors, WNBA player Shanna Crossley, who was invited to speak on her experiences in a male dominated field.
She recently joined the President Jackie Claunch, faculty, and other History Club members for a rededication of the Sojourner Truth memorial. For Black History Month she and other History Club members presented black inventors and the impact they continue to have on the world today.
She also presented a segment for Hispanic Heritage Month that paid a tribute to the Hispanics and their impact on Kelly Air Force Base.
It should also be noted that Debborah has participated in school athletics in the first co-ed softball team and charity events such as Elf Louise and Habitat for Humanity.
Besides being an exemplary student and a single parent, Debborah has managed to balance school and work by being the manager of Bella’s Women Fitness gym.
