Jose Garay is a hard-working student who has attended San Antonio College since 2003. Despite working full-time while attending college, he has accumulated over 39 college hours with a GPA of 3.679.

As noted by San Antonio College staff member, Rose M. Gonzales, Mr. Garay “is an outstanding member of his community,” who has worked with young people through Youth-N-Touch Ministry over the past seven years. In his free time, Mr. Garay has also organized numerous tournaments for the Hispanic Christian Sports Association. In addition to these volunteer activities, Mr. Garay works with the Middle Village Elementary school in the Northside Independent School District.

Mr. Garay plans to transfer to the University of Texas at San Antonio to complete his education degree and then seek employment as a K-8th grade teacher. Given his excellent education, work experience, and commitment to young people, Mr. Garay will undoubtedly make an outstanding addition to the teaching field for many years to come.
