Rocio  
Rocío Neri - Brief Biography

San Antonio College sophomore, Rocío Neri, is an industrious nursing student pursuing her undergraduate education while serving on several college organizations, volunteering in the community, and working full-time. As noted by English faculty, Patricia Portales, Rocío is “dedicated and motivated” showing an “outstanding commitment to her academic work and to the community.”

Rocío is an active member of Phi Theta Kappa at San Antonio College and helps with event planning and organization. On her own time, Rosio volunteers with senior citizens at the Regent Care Center in San Antonio while still participating in the choir and coordinated breakfasts at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

In addition to her volunteer work and college activities, Rocío works full-time as a receptionist at Baymont Inn and Suites. Her supervisor describes her as an “efficient person” with impressive organizational skills and invaluable bilingual communication proficiencies.

Prior to coming to San Antonio College, Rocío graduated from the local Health Careers High School. While at San Antonio College, Rocío has excelled academically, achieving a 3.9 GPA and a recurrent spot on the President’s Honor list. Rocío’s next steps include transferring to the UT Health Science Center where she will pursue her degree as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and subsequently fulfill her lifelong commitment to helping others.
