| Goal IV. Capacity to Serve
Richard Anderson, Carla Guerra and Karina Pena in Auisitions and Administrative Services completed the Customer Service Certification program offered through the SAC ITIC. All other Acquisitions, Materiel Management and Print Services personnel are ahead of schedule to complete this program, which is one of the department's process improvement projects for this year.
DPS officers issued 130 Crime Prevention Reminders district wide.
Additional funding of $200,000 for the Palo Alto College Soccer Field Phase 2 and 3 consisting of parking lots, restrooms, lighting and bleachers was approved by the City of San Antonio Voters as part of the City of San Antonio Bond Election on May 12, 2007.
Design work is beginning on Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Phase II renovation projects at SAC, PAC, and SPC.
The Board approved the new Leadership Development Program at its May 15 meeting.
The Records and Information Systems Unit provided support to the Internal Auditors and the Fiscal Affairs Budget Officer and responded to the Digital Documents IT Audit.
The Senior Human Resources Generalist attended one fo three sessions regarding “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” conducted at Northwest Vista College.
Information Technologies staff began implementation of a new district-wide email system the weekend of May 18-20.
With regard to the Titan/Banner Projects:
SCT technical onsite training has been scheduled for three classes this summer addressing Student Data Conversion; Banner project implementation governance and communication flow was prepared for presentation to the Chancellor’s Executive Committee; a survey
of 49 universities and colleges and their chosen administrative ERP system was assembled and it was determined that 30 have selected Banner but have student populations of 34,000 or less. The largest institutions will be contacted for feedback on their implementation approach and lessons learned.

Goal I. Access To Higher Education
The Department of International Programs CASS (Central American States for Scholarship) students—rural teachers— will be engaged in CAPSTONE courses during the Maymester that will focus on Children with Special Needs. The International CASS teachers will perform CAPSTONE work in communities where the majority of the children/families they work with are considered at risk. They continue service learning activities with the San Antonio Library Foundation and St. Peters/St. Joseph's Children's home.
The Department of Student and Community Program Development Community Education Centers continue to participate in the “College Connections” initiative and related activities. CEC staff provided Financial Aid Processing, and/or Accuplacer Testing to students at Burbank, Clark, Frank Tejeda Academy, Harlandale, Holmes, Jay, Kennedy, Jefferson, Lanier, Madison, McCollum, Memorial, Navarro Academy, Positive Solutions, Roosevelt, Sam Houston, and Southwest High Schools.
The Department of Institutional Advancement received a $15,000 gift from Millie & Tino Duran for the Millie and Tino Duran endowed scholarship fund.
Goal II. Student Success
The Department of Institutional Advancement continues to focus on reports to donors reflecting scholarships awarded, along with requests for renewed and increased funding.
Goal III. Workforce Development
The ACCD Board of Trustees acknowledged the ACE Award presented to the Westside Education and Training Center by the Texas Adult Continuing Education Award for Partnerships during the highlights portion of the May 15th ACC Board of Trustees meeting.
The Workforce Specialty Center enrollments started two new enrollment cohorts—WETC enrollments increased by 24 students in technical training and CTTC initiated a new class for Production Worker for 10 students.
The Kerrville ISD and ACCD have begun preliminary discussions to establish an ACCD early college technology center for Fall 2007. More details will be provided after discussion with the chancellor.
Goal IV. Capacity to Serve
The SOAR team prepared the “Alamo Community Colleges’ Performance Measurement Management” report which provided data on the Chancellor’s Key Performance Priorities related to recruitment (student recruitment/capacity model), retention and completion (with alignment to Achieving the Dream targets), metrics, and remediation levels of First-Time-in-College students.
The Department of Institutional Advancement presented a revised proposed policy revision for naming opportunities (CLA Local) to the Executive Committee; revised draft procedures/regulations associated with Policy CLA (Local) and sent to Dr. Leslie for review and comment. Eric Dahler continues to work on revising the MOU between the ACCD Foundation and the ACCD.
Goal V. Organizational Communication
The Department of Student and Community Program Development Community Education Centers were featured as the Program Highlight at the May 15th Board meeting. Presentation included history of partnerships, locations of centers, participant (student) testimonials, as well as numbers and demographics of students served.
