WESTSIDE EDUCATION AND TRAINING CENTER
10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Westside Education and Training Center, 563 SW 40th
The Alamo Community Colleges will host the Westside Family Education Fiesta. Representatives from the Alamo Community Colleges will be on hand to provide information on admission, college courses, scholarships, workforce training, continuing education, children’s programs, and degree and career planning. Assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be provided by the Westside Community Education Center. There will be refreshments, door prizes and activities for children. In addition, Northwest Vista College will give out free tickets to the San Antonio Missions baseball game on Sunday, June 24.

“The Westside Family Education Fiesta is a great way for the community to learn about the educational opportunities at the Alamo Community Colleges,” says Northwest Vista College recruiter Patricia Garza.

The Westside Education and Training Center celebrated its grand opening on November 14, 2006. The facility was opened to provide a location for members of the Westside community to take classes to train for high-paying jobs, update their job skills or work toward a college degree in their own neighborhood.

For more information about the Westside Family Education Fiesta, please call (210) 431-7111. The event is free and open to the public.
