Update from the Chancellor

Goal I. Access to Higher Education
The Department of Institutional Advancement met with corporate and regional representatives of Firestone and representatives of St. Philip’s College to accept $4,000 gift to the ACCD Foundation for St. Philip’s automotive technology department. The possibility of an SPC/ Firestone internship program was also discussed to assist in placing and finding job opportunities for automotive technology students. (MORE)

SAC EDGE program students test skills in robotics competition. Twenty-eight high school students (10th - 12th grades) participating in SAC's summer EDGE program (Early Development of General Engineering) showcased their newly acquired engineering skills in two robotics competitions held recently. Seven four-student teams assembled and programmed Lego Mindstorms® NXT robots to follow strict competition guidelines. In the photo above, one of the teams tests their robot creation.
