San Antonio College Counselor Doug Caballero was recently awarded the San Antonio Education Partnership (SAEP) Executive Director’s Appreciation Award for his contribution giving campus tours to 2,676 SAEP students and assisting in their career development. Additionally, at the awards presentation the San Antonio ISD
Gear Up program director, Class of 2012, recognized him with great appreciation.

Northwest Vista College instructors Bill Colangelo and Jayne King perform in a new site-specific dance video to premiere during Contemporary Arts Month. "Flood Gate," directed and choreographed by Jayne King with music and videography by Bill Colangelo, prominently features the San Antonio River Authority's Flood Control Tunnel Outlet on Mission Road. Two of the dancers featured in the video, Lynette Barrera and Rayvin Marken, are NVC dance students. "Flood Gate" will premiere on July 27 - 28 at Merging Modes: An Evening of Collaborative Performance. For more information, contact Bill at 348-2286.
Northwest Vista College multimedia instructor Ron Wojnar, along with San Antonio College professor Fredric Weiss, attended the WECM Course Review Workshop on June 12-13 at Midland College’s Advanced Technology Center in Midland, TX. Ron and Fred were chosen as instructional specialists, and were members of Team #5 to review and rewrite as necessary statewide course descriptions and learning outcomes for all the RTVB (Radio-Television-Broadcasting) and FLMC (Film/Cinema Studies) courses. They also wrote new courses as needed.

| St. Philip's College Dean of Applied Science and Technology Dr. John E. Carnes was elected President-Elect of the National Council on Workforce Education (NCWE) for the 2007-2008 year. He will assume the responsibilities of NCWE President in 2008-2009. |
