Faculty Spotlight

Karen D. Marcotte, professor of Interdisciplinary Studies, History and Humanities at Palo Alto College, served as co-facilitator of the workshop "Remember the Alamo: NEH Landmarks of American History and Culture," held recently at the Alamo. The workshop was a collaboration between the Community College Humanities Association and The Alamo, supported by funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The workshop enabled selected community college faculty members, 25 per week, to undertake intensive study and individual classroom teaching projects at The Alamo. It was attended by faculty from as far away as New Jersey and North Dakota.

Dr. Amie DeLeon, Palo Alto College instructor, teacher education, successfully defended her dissertation, “The Impact of a Student Advising Center on Enrollment, Retention and Graduation at a Community College in South Central Texas,” at Texas A&M University—Kingsville, July 16th. Congratulations to Dr. DeLeon!
