| Goal IV. Capacity to Serve
The first meetings of the three Process Improvement Committees in Acquisitions and Administrative Services (Customer Service, Outreach and Training; Procurement Card Program; and Inventory Control Process Improvements in Communication, Training and Accountability) were held this week.
The Chief Budget Officer met with staff to refine FY07/08 revenue and expense projections. Meetings and discussions will continue as preliminary data is developed.
Carlos Ramirez, Mary Nell Bressel, and Gladys Jacobson met with Dr. Derrico to continue discussing FY07/08 budget development parameters.
The Budget Office sent out the Preliminary Personnel Register to the colleges for review and updates. District Departments were sent their FY07/08 Budget Development packages. Target due dates were established and shared.
The District Controller met with the executive team at Northeast Lakeview College regarding their need for a separate external financial audit as of August 31, 2007 in order to complete their accreditation submission.
The HR Department: assisted the principal auditor with questions regarding temporary 19-hour employees;
provided orientation for seven new employees;
met with the insurance representative on a new retirement investment plan; and
attended the Banner Troubleshooting Workshop. The HR Director held a one-on-one orientation with the new SPC president.
The HR Process Improvement team meetings held this week included Employee Development, Performance Appraisal Metrics, District-Wide Leadership Development Program. Acquisitions, Leave Committee and Terminations Committee
Department of Public Safety staff members responded to or generated 544 calls for service. |

Goal III. Workforce Development
The Nursing and Allied Health Task Force met on March 6, 2007 to finalize recommendations on nursing faculty recruitment and retention efforts. The Task Force will be preparing recommendations for the chancellor’s review in the month of April after input is received from the Faculty Senate and Staff Council.
During the week of March 8, 2007, a total of 375 students participated in assessment and short-term industry PTWE training programs including: 198 Toyota assessments and 115 Tier 1 Toyota supplier workers.
Goal IV. Capacity to Serve
The Department of Institutional Advancement is working with Reverend Jemerson of Second Baptist Church to lead a convoy of eastside high school students to tour Alamo Community Colleges and academies.
Goal V. Organizational Communications
Richard Hernandez, director for the Department of Student Financial Services Processing, participated in a live interview about ACCD financial aid opportunities on KLRN.
The Department of Institutional Advancement prepared the summary of the ACCD Foundation Board retreat activities and is developing follow-up action plans. The Foundation also participated in the ACCT Conference in Orlando, Florida.
