At Northwest Vista College, NVC students, faculty, staff and visitors will benefit from 200 additional parking spaces that were recently completed on the northern side of the current modular buildings. This is the first bond-funded project to be completed and will eventually serve both Juniper Hall and Redbud Learning Center which are scheduled for completion by August of 2008.


Palo Alto College's cafeteria, managed by Sue Valle of Custom Foods, received a “Perfect” score during its recent inspection by the San Antonio Metro Health District. During the summer sessions, PAC’s cafeteria served thousands of meals to students, faculty, and staff, and to children attending various summer programs throughout the campus.
 
San Antonio College hosted the Early Childhood Studies Quality Investment Grant Recipient Celebration on August 14 to recognize the 41 students who completed the first series of professional development courses for early childhood teachers. This program is a partnership with the SAC Early Childhood Studies Department, Continuing Education Division, the City of San Antonio’s Office of Community Initiatives (which provided a $450,000 grant), Positive Beginnings, Family Service Association, UTSA, and KLRN-TV.
 
Northeast Lakeview College's and Northwest Vista College's Facilities Departments held awards recognition ceremonies recently. Four Northeast Lakeview employees were recognized for a combined 37 years of service. At Northwest Vista, 13 employees were recognized for a combined 129 years of service to the Alamo Community Colleges.
