Update from the Chancellor

Goal I. Access to Higher Education
Northwest Vista recently completed a reorganization of the writing labs to better serve student needs. Three labs are now open to serve specific student needs: the advocacy center, the cooperative learning center, and the Writing Across the Curriculum Center. The centers will assist students with both group and one on one tutoring for students. The centers will also help NVC respond to the new state law limiting student course drops by providing “Drop Counseling.” (MORE)

Faculty Spotlight
Dr. Irma Ned Bailey, SAC English professor, was awarded a $1,000 Learn & Serve stipend. As a result, her English Composition I class is participating in the Veteran’s History Project, sponsored by the Library of Congress. (MORE)
Celebrations
Thanks to a unique scholarship program, 26 parents and their pre-school children will have the opportunity to realize their dreams of a college education. (MORE)
