President Claunch and Van De Walle-Dreher
Honored Northwest
Vista College President Dr. Jacqueline
Claunch and ACCD Foundation Board chairperson
Jackie Van De Walle-Dreher were honored
at the 11th Annual "Salute to Outstanding
Women in Action" awards gala sponsored
by La Prensa, San Antonio's only bilingual
newspaper. The awards ceremony is held
in celebration of Women's History Month
and honors women with an impressive professional
background and a long history of community
involvement.
Claunch, who has been president of NVC
since 1998, received an award for outstanding
achievements in education. Under her leadership,
NVC was recognized by the MetLife Foundation
as one of only four "best-practice
community colleges" in the nation
to receive a student retention initiative
award.
Van
De Walle-Dreher was presented the award
for outstanding achievements in community
service. She has been a member of the
ACCD Foundation Board since early 1997
and has served as chairperson since later
that same year. |
