Dr. Stefanie Greiner from Northeast Lakeview College will discuss "The Psychology of Gratitude" at 11 a.m. and show you how gratitude can improve your attitudes, mood, and physical health. Learn how psychology relates to YOU by participating in interactive presentations by NVC psychology students, instructors and staff. Meet area university psychology recruiters. Learn about volunteer and internship opportunities at various community-based organizations involved in psychology-related work. SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE
10:50 a.m., Room 120, Visual Arts and Technology Center on the SAC Campus. Alex Bitterman of the School of Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology will examine the history of branding, how brands affected the consumer frame of reference in developing countries and the societal responsibilities of designers, in his lecture "Brandcodex: Deciphering the Role of the Designer in a Branded World>" The event is free and open to the public, although seating is limited.

NORTHWEST VISTA COLLEGE
9:30-10:45 a.m. and 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Banquet Room, Huisache Hall. Anna Baltzer , a 28-year-old Jewish-American Columbia graduate, Fulbright scholar, and the granddaughter of Holocaust refugees, will present photographs and stories from her work documenting human rights abuses and supporting nonviolent resistance in the West Bank with the International Women’s Peace Service. Baltzer's presentation will cover checkpoints, the Wall, Israeli activism, censorship, nonviolent resistance, and other topics. She is currently touring the U.S. with the updated and revised second edition of her book, Witness in Palestine: A Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories . SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE
9:30 a.m., Koehler Cultural Center, 310 West Ashby at the corner of Ashby and Lewis streets. Officials from SAC and the Bexar County Medical Society Staffing Services will sign an agreement to create a Mentorship program for the college's medical assisting students.

Saturday, October 27
PALO ALTO COLLEGE
10 a.m.-3 p.m., Advanced Technology Center at Port San Antonio (formerly KellyUSA), 312 Tinker Drive, Free Computer Assistance for Alamo Community Colleges' students and employees. PAC's Corporate & Community Education Division will offer free computer troubleshooting and technical support provided by students and instructors from PAC's CompTIA A+ Computer Certification Training Program. Those interested in attending are requested to read and sign the PC Clinic Trouble Sheet at <http://www.accd.edu/pac/htm/Community/ce/pdf/PC_Trouble_Ticket.pdf> before arrival.

PALO ALTO COLLEGE
10 a.m.-2 p.m., South Park Mall, PACDay, a new venue to recruit students for the spring semester as well as highlighting PAC programs.

SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE
10 a.m.-1 p.m., Candler Physical Education Center and Seguir Adelante Center. Project ReConnect: Community Education Fair and Flu Immunization Clinic. Thanks to involvement from the Wellmed Charitable Foundation, the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District will provide flu vaccines free of charge (while supplies last, for individuals age 6 months and over). Children with Medicaid or CHIP must present their coverage information. The Seguir Adelante Community Center will be open for tours, offers guests access to free, computerized scholarship search and provide information about Money Management and Homebuyer programs. Staff from the Alamo Community Colleges will be on hand to answer questions about college enrollment, financial aid and degree programs. Local schools will provide entertainment and SAC student groups will sell food to raise money for scholarships. Cal 210-785-6327 for details.

Thursday, November 1
PALO ALTO COLLEGE
7 p.m., College Courtyard, 1400 W. Villaret Blvd., "Celebrando Recuerdos,” in observance of El Dia de Los Muertos. Enjoy music by Mariachi Palomino, the PAC Jazz Ensemble and Conjunto Palo Alto, plus contemporary, social and Ballet Folklorico dancing.
