9:30 a.m., Koehler Cultural Center, 310 West Ashby at the corner of Ashby and Lewis streets. Officials from SAC and the Bexar County Medical Society Staffing Services will sign an agreement to create a Mentorship program for the college's medical assisting students.

SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE
2 p.m., Nursing Education Building, Room 213. Celebration of the SAC Advanced Practice Nurse Clinic, which opens on Monday, October 29. Positioned as a resource for SAC students, staff and faculty, the clinic will offer low-cost health services to diagnose and treat acute illnesses, and provide health promotion and education to improve wellness. It will be operated by the Advance Practice faculty (nurse practitioners) from Nursing Education for 19 hours each week, Monday-Thursday.

Friday, October 26-Sunday, October 28
SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE
7-10 p.m., Loftin Student Center, "THe Haunted Asylum" Haunted House, SAC Student Life with the OnStage drama club. Free to SAC students with ID; $5 for non-students ( no one under 5 years old admitted).

Saturday, October 27
PALO ALTO COLLEGE
10 a.m.-3 p.m., Advanced Technology Center at Port San Antonio (formerly KellyUSA), 312 Tinker Drive, Free Computer Assistance for Alamo Community Colleges' students and employees. PAC's Corporate & Community Education Division will offer free computer troubleshooting and technical support provided by students and instructors from PAC's CompTIA A+ Computer Certification Training Program. Those interested in attending are requested to read and sign the PC Clinic Trouble Sheet at <http://www.accd.edu/pac/htm/Community/ce/pdf/PC_Trouble_Ticket.pdf> before arrival.

PALO ALTO COLLEGE
10 a.m.-2 p.m., South Park Mall, PACDay, a new venue to recruit students for the spring semester as well as highlighting PAC programs.

SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE
10 a.m.-1 p.m., Candler Physical Education Center and Seguir Adelante Center. Project ReConnect: Community Education Fair and Flu Immunization Clinic. Thanks to involvement from the Wellmed Charitable Foundation, the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District will provide flu vaccines free of charge (while supplies last, for individuals age 6 months and over). Children with Medicaid or CHIP must present their coverage information. The Seguir Adelante Community Center will be open for tours, offers guests access to free, computerized scholarship search and provide information about Money Management and Homebuyer programs. Staff from the Alamo Community Colleges will be on hand to answer questions about college enrollment, financial aid and degree programs. Local schools will provide entertainment and SAC student groups will sell food to raise money for scholarships. Cal 210-785-6327 for details.

Thursday, November 1
PALO ALTO COLLEGE
7 p.m., College Courtyard, 1400 W. Villaret Blvd., "Celebrando Recuerdos,” in observance of El Dia de Los Muertos. Enjoy music by Mariachi Palomino, the PAC Jazz Ensemble and Conjunto Palo Alto, plus contemporary, social and Ballet Folklorico dancing. The event is free and open to the public.

SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE
9 a.m.-1 p.m., Various locations at the college, Dia de Los Muertos celebration. Includes a sugar skulls, papel picado and la ofrenda workshops, plus"Remembering Our Own," a memorial service for recently departed members of the SAC family. At 1 p.m. in the Catholic Student Center, there will be a slide show, a demonstration on how to build a Day of the Dead altar, free door prices and free pan de muerto. NORTHWEST VISTA COLLEGE
Altares para Dia de Los Muertos. Spanish language classes will present a juried competition of student-constructed altares celebrating Dia de Los Muertos in the Student Lounge entrance area.

Friday, November 2
SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE
9-11 a.m., Visual Arts and Technology Center, Dia de Los Muertos celebration continues with a film of a jazz funeral, a presentation by the Mortuary Science department on planning your own funeral and a presentation on "Death in the Mexican-American Culture."

NORTHWEST VISTA COLLEGE
2:30-3:30 p.m., Huisache Hall, Student Lounge entrance area. NVC dance classes will perform and hold a workshop adjacent to the Altares para Dia de Los Muertos altares competition.

Tuesday, November 13
NORTHWEST VISTA COLLEGE
Two sessions, 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Banquet Room. Space is still available for the 4th Annual Hunger Banquet at Northwest Vista College. If you would like to bring your class for a fun, interactive and eye-opening experience, please reserve your spot today! A hunger banquet is an interactive activity to help students think about poverty, social justice, and globalization in a whole new way. As students enter the room, they will be given a new identity. Based upon their new identity, they will learn that some “live to eat” and others “eat to live.” Participants will learn how the choices we make as consumers have a global impact. The experience can serve as a great jumping off point for discussion for all types of classes and disciplines.
