Goal IV. Capacity to Serve
Acquisitions
• ACCD’s P-Card details are being completed based on a training seminar on Smart Data On-Line (SDOL) conducted by JPMorgan Chase Bank (the ACCD vendor for P-Card and Travel Card) which was attended by Elizabeth Alvarado, Mary Brogan, Sylvia Morgan and Dwight Gillespie on October 17 in Austin. The training program provided operational information for P-Card administrators. Elizabeth Alvarado and Sylvia Morgan also attended the State of Texas Payment Card Conference held the following day. The conference covered a variety of topics dealing with fuel, procurement and travel cards. The information gained at these meetings will be very valuable as we implement the ACCD Fuel Card, P-Card and Travel Card programs.

• The St. Philip’s College (SPC) Copy Center and the District Print Shop successfully completed a large number of projects related to the SPC Homecoming Weekend during this reporting period.
• Student Handbooks for the SPC Educational Support Services department totaling 8000 full color impressions were also completed.

• Visits to the Distribution Center to provide “real world” training on safety and logistics issues to local company employees are being arranged by the Continuing Education department at San Antonio College (SAC). These visits will occur once or twice a month for 10 or 15 employees.

Facilities Operations and Construction Management
• Demonstrations of the Team Board, an interactive whiteboard system, were conducted at 7990 Pat Booker Road for the Northeast Lakeview College faculty.
• The last precast concrete posts for the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) parking garage at SAC were installed. The contractor is working on constructing the exterior façade, the concrete topping slabs and other details necessary to have the parking garage complete and ready by the start of the Spring 2008 semester.
• Morningside Ministries received a demonstration of several white board systems including the Team Board, Wall Talkers and Smart Boards, which are technologies that will be used in the new buildings constructed under the CIP. This was an excellent occasion for Facilities to serve as a resource on new technology and to strengthen ties with an organization like Morningside Ministries which provides services to the community as well as potential employment opportunities for our graduates.

Information Technologies
• ACCD IT collaborated with the IT department at SAC to conduct an open forum concerning the email migration to our new Exchange Server environment. Two sessions were conducted and a total of 35 employees attended the sessions. Attendees raised excellent questions regarding the migration and shared their email system concerns. The session will serve as a model for future sessions at the other college and district sites.
• District IT conducted a detail review of our current Incident Management and Problem Management practices. The new process will allow IT to effectively create and track all IT incidents and Service Work orders.
• Client Services met with the Material Management department to study their technology needs. As a result several projects were initiated to improve Material Management processes through effective use of technology.
