Goal I. Access to Higher Education
The Alamo Community Colleges hosted representatives from Austin Community College and area superintendents for a presentation on the highly successful College Connections program. In attendance were Richard Middleton (Northeast ISD), Ed Lyman (Judson ISD) and representatives from Northside and Harlandale school districts, as well as Region 20. We have received positive feedback and plan to formalize partnerships with additional school districts in the near future. (MORE)

Alamo Community Colleges Showcase $450 Million Bond Projects at Design Exposition. Community members, business leaders and public officials took advantage of a unique opportunity today to see first-hand the fruits of the Alamo Community Colleges’ $450 million bond issue, which is funding new construction and improvements at each of the Alamo Community Colleges’ five colleges.
Attendees at the event, “Delivering the Dream—Alamo Community Colleges Design Exposition,” studied full-color displays of the college construction projects, while representatives from the firms employed on each project and Alamo Community Colleges’ staff answered questions. At noon, they listened as Mayor Phil Hardberger, Tom C. Frost, Jr., County Commissioner Paul Elizondo, Alamo Community Colleges’ Board Chairman Roberto Zarate, Alamo Community Colleges’ Trustee Charles Conner and Chancellor Bruce H. Leslie presented additional information on the bond projects. |
