| Goal IV. Capacity to Serve
During this reporting period Inventory Control coordinated the on-line auction which netted $34,663.00. Additionally, there were 15 asset redistributions throughout the ACCD generating a cost savings of $18,075.00.
The proposed design for the new Northeast Lakeview College Copy Center has been submitted by the architects for review. Steve Kline made a visit to the SPC Copy Center for comparative purposes since it reflects our most recent renovation and constitutes the ACCD’s most effective copy center workflow design. We are grateful to both Mr. Kline and Mr. Strybos for their efforts on our behalf.
The Human Resources Records Department met with the desktop replacement plan group.
Human Resources sent all ACCD employees demographic information and public access option.
Last week almost 12,000 students registered for the Alamo Community Colleges for the upcoming two summer terms. Ninety percent of these students utilized the online web capabilities to accomplish this activity.

Goal I. Access To Higher Education
The Department of Student & Community Program Development, Community Education Centers (CEC) continues to participate in the “College Connections” initiative and related activities. CEC staff provided Financial Aid Processing and/or Accuplacer Testing to students at Kennedy, Memorial, Edison, Southwest, and Harlandale High Schools. Additionally, assisted students with Admissions applications at St. Gerard’s High School.
Goal II. Student Success
The Department of Student & Community Program Development, Student Leadership Institute (SLI) continues with outreach/recruitment activities for 2007-08.
The Department of Institutional Advancement completed a preliminary Board Policy on Naming of ACCD facilities. The draft policy was discussed at the Cabinet Meeting on April 23, 2007 and will be forwarded to the Chancellor for future consideration. Mr. Roland DuBay, is also working with Jim Lanier and the Association of Governing Boards to finalize details on the training to be provided on May 18th & 19th for the ACCD Board of Trustees, ACCD Foundation Board of Directors, the chancellor, vice chancellors, college presidents and district institutional advancement staff in preparation for a major gifts campaign.
Goal III. Workforce Development
Dr. Bruce Leslie, Dr. Robert Duron, Superintendent for SAISD, and Dr. Federico Zaragoza met with the Toyota Leadership Team, headed by Mr. Luis De La Garza, Plant Manager on April 20, 2007. Several topics were discussed including continued training partnerships, enhanced programs in the Skilled Team Members and Tool and Die areas. Toyota reported a high level of satisfaction with ACCD-Toyota training programs noting that the San Antonio Toyota operation is now the North American standard for training in various TPS areas.
The Department of Professional, Technical, and Workforce Education is planning a Global Workforce Education Leadership Seminar for Latin American Universities and Technical Colleges. The Seminar was requested by Mexican TIES Partners and reflects the growing importance of Workforce Education in developing countries. The Seminar is planned for November 8-9, 2007.
Goal IV. Capacity to Serve
The SOAR team continues to work on the Chancellor’s Key Performance Priorities related to annexation, recruitment (student recruitment/capacity model), retention and completion (alignment to Achieving the Dream targets), metrics, and planning and budgeting.
The SOAR team prepared the “Alamo Community Colleges Projected and Targeted Headcounts,” Fall 2006 Average Class Size and Full-time/Part-time Faculty ratios report, and semester credit hour projections report.
Goal V. Organizational Communication
The Department of Institutional Advancement finalized the first monthly issue of The Community Catalyst on April 20, 2007.
