SPC Hosts Students from Region 20 Service Center

St. Philip's College is exploring opportunities to provide educational experiences for students in the Migrant Worker Program and provided a tour for students interested in occupations associated with technical careers. The tour was arranged by the Region 20 Service Center. The students were from the following Independent School Districts: Carrizo Springs ISD, Edgewood ISD, Harlandale ISD, Pearsall ISD, Somerset ISD, Uvalde ISD, Southside ISD, and Medina Valley ISD.

International Human Rights Activist Speaks at SPC

In an effort to engage students in critical, contemporary issues, St. Philip's College hosted the President’s Lecture Series with a vibrant and insightful lecture on Immigration Reform on Thursday, March 27. Enrique Morones, an acclaimed international human rights activist, spoke before an audience of 200 students, faculty, staff, and community members. Prior to his presentation, Mr. Morones held a spirited discussion with students enrolled in Sociology and American Government.

College Partners with Industry Leaders

St. Philip's College is continuing its work on building and maintaining a world class workforce in partnership with industry leaders. Current projects include training on automotive transmissions for Raytheon Professional Services, advanced brake diagnosis for Ford Motor Company, aircraft structures assembly and repair for Boeing Shared Services, and data base and file management classes for Boeing Mentor-Protégé.

SPC Vocational Nursing Partners with School Districts

The St. Philip’s College Vocational Nursing Program is partnering with several Independent School Districts (ISDs) to develop a Tech-Prep Program for Vocational Nursing. High school students participating in the program will transfer courses into SPC’s Vocational Nursing Program enabling them to secure a degree or certificate in a shortened time period.


SPC Students Recognized for Outstanding Achievement

Nearly 600 students and their families attended the St. Philip’s College Honors Convocation on April 2 to celebrate outstanding academic achievement for students earning honors’ level grade point averages and “Who’s Who” recognition. The evening event was a great success as it accommodated the schedules of working parents and students.
