OPENING
OF NORTHEAST CAMPUS
Northeast Campus made its initial contact in the northeast community
on January 16, 2001 for the spring semester in Building 7980,
approximately 1350 square feet under the direction of Interim
Executive Director Pat Terrel and the first Northeast Campus employee,
Beautrice Butler, Education Skills Specialist II. Throughout the
semester, Northeast Campus was granted additional support from
St. Philip's College counselor, Cindy Turner and San Antonio College
counselor, Jan Starnes. Vance Safley and Veronica Benevides were
also additional support for the Northeast Campus. In March 2001,
Debbie C. Hamilton joined our team as the new Executive Director.
Building 7980 has 4 classrooms and an instructional computer lab.
Building 7982 consists of vending machines and a seating area
for students to study or wait for additional classes. The total
registration count for Spring 2001 was 457.

BUILDING
7990
The renovation
of building 7990, approximately 18,000 square feet was completed
at the end of May and was opened for business on June 4, 2001.
This building consists of:
Welcome Center

on-campus registration team

space for our Student Service Assistant III and Work Study students
to assess the needs of our incoming students and visitors

NORTHEAST
LAKEVIEW CAMPUS HISTORY
Northeast
Lakeview Campus is a collaborative effort by St. Philip's College and San
Antonio College to provide for the educational and training needs
of the people in the northeast sector of the city. Students will
be able to enroll in any class offered at Northeast Campus for
which they are qualified as a St. Philip's College student or
a San Antonio College Student. The student has the option to determine
a college of choice. Credits will be transcripted to the college
designated by the student.
