Northwest Vista College's New Buildings

  • Cypress Campus Center - expected date of completion:   December 2008
    • Houses the Campus Dining Services, the Bookstore, and Student Success including advising, financial aid, bursar, registration, student engagement, services for students with disabilities, testing center, college orientation program, career services, and a multicultural center

  • Huisache Health and Wellness Renovation - Huisache Hall will undergo a significant transformation in 2009 to become the Huisache Hall Health and Wellness Center.
    • Faculty and staff have been working with the design and project management teams to develop plans to renovate the cafeteria, lounge, bookstore and student engagement areas because these functions will move to the new Cypress Campus Center in December of 2008. The attached building plan shows the addition of a gymnasium and additional fitness areas for students and employees. In addition, the team has proposed an outdoor fitness trail, an environmental research preserve, a ropes course and a disc golf course.

  • Juniper Hall Academic Center - expected date of completion:  July 2008
    • Houses several academic support labs in addition to the classrooms that will be home to the disciplines of English, Reading, Mathematics, Education and English as a Second Language
  • Live Oak Hall Academic Center - expected date of completion:  December 2008
    • Classrooms and laboratories for Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, Astronomy, Engineering, upper division Mathematics, History, Government, Sociology, Anthropology, Geography, Psychology and Speech

  • Redbud Hall Library and Learning Resources - expected date of completion:  July 2008
    • Houses the library and several classrooms on the 3rd floor for Multimedia, Music, Art, Mass Communications, and Gaming
  • Palmetto Fine and Performing Arts Center - expected date of completion:  July 2009
    • Home to a 400 seat theater, a dance recital hall, a music recital hall, a black box theater and classrooms that support instruction in Dance, Art, Music, and Theater.
