Academic Council: Responsible for making recommendations on the improvement of academic affairs and promote the advancement and effectiveness of the academic area of the college.
Academic Integrity: Reviews processes and procedures related to academic integrity and serves as an advisory committee to the Vice President of Academics and the Vice President of Student Success on disciplinary matters related to academic integrity.
Academic Travel Committee: Applies guidelines for disbursement of travel funds to award travel money to faculty.
Across the Curriculum (AtC) Leadership Team: Responsible for providing overall leadership, guidance, and coordination between the four assessment efforts, as well as reporting on progress of the QEP implementation to the college during the Annual Report-Out.
ASK Leadership Team: Provides overall leadership, guidance and coordination between disciplines for student learning outcome assessments.
Cooperative Learning Across the Curriculum: Observes and assesses Northwest Vista College students in academic group settings in order to increase the effectiveness of the use of the elements of Cooperative Learning in all disciplines.
Critical Thinking Across the Curriculum: Responsible for developing, conducting and assessing activities related to critical thinking across-the-curriculum.
Curriculum Review Team: Responsible for activity in program development and curriculum change.
Distance Learning Strategic Planning Team: Determines the goals, policies and best practices for distance learning at NVC.
Faculty Senate: Presents faculty perspectives and makes appropriate recommendations regarding college and district policies.
Fine and Performing Arts Committee: Coordinates arts programs to better facilitate the joint use of resources and organize the many creative events.
Grade Appeals Committee: This committee will hear all formal, written appeals related to final grades.
Hearing Committee: This committee will hear the appeals of terminated faculty members.
Institutional Review Board: Ensures all human subjects research conducted at or by this institution is ethically justifiable, demonstrates reasonable risk in comparison to the benefits and knowledge gained by the research, and complies with all applicable provisions and regulations.
Promotion and Tenure: Reviews applications for promotion and tenure and make recommendations to the Academic Leader or Supervisor.
Speaking Across the Curriculum: Supports the enhancement of oral communication skills of the students at Northwest Vista College.
Writing Across the Curriculum: Offers students multiple opportunities to engage in educational writing assignments across all disciplines and provide them the feedback they need to improve their writing skills.
