Online Databases - Find Articles

The online databases give you access to thousands of scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers and materials from books. Use your original PALS username and password to log in to the databases from off campus.

Academic Search Complete - contains full text for nearly 4,650 serials, including more than 3,600 peer-reviewed publications. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 8,200 journals in the collection. This scholarly collection offers information in computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, ethnic studies, and many more.

Academic OneFile - is the premier source for peer-reviewed, full-text articles from the world's leading journals and reference sources. With extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects, Academic OneFile is both authoritative and comprehensive. With millions of articles available in both PDF and HTML full-text with no restrictions, researchers are able to find accurate information quickly. Contemporary Authors, Contemporary Literary Criticism Select, Dictionary of Literary Biography -
Contemporary Authors provides complete biographical and bibliographical information on more than 120,000 U.S. and international authors. Contemporary Literary Criticism--Select collects more than 35,000 critical essays on contemporary authors, with biographical, critical, principal works, and further study information. Dictionary of Literary Biography provides nearly 10,000 biographical and critical essays on the lives, works, and careers of influential literary figures from all eras and genres.


JSTOR
- Search the full text of many scholarly journals in the arts, literature, botany, ecology and the social sciences. This database has the complete run of each journal title and results will be shown in their original image. Acrobat Reader must be installed to view these articles. The most recent 3-5 years of each journal title are NOT available here. For recent articles, please use another database or ask the Reference Librarian on duty to help you.

Latino Literature - contains approximately 186 plays and 33,000 pages of prose and poetry by Chicano, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Dominican and other Latin writers working in the United States. New titles are being added regularly. For search tips, click on the Help link in the right corner.

LION - Literature Online, a new database offered by ProQuest with thousands of articles and full-text pieces of literature. For search tips, click on the Help link in the right corner.

Literature Criticism Online - a new Gale database encompassing many of their popular collections, including Contemporary Literary Criticism®, Twentieth-Century Literary Criticism®, Nineteenth-Century Literature Criticism®, Shakespearean Criticism Literature, Criticism from 1400–1800, Classical and Medieval Literature Criticism, Poetry Criticism, Short Story Criticism, Drama Criticism, and Children's Literature Review.
