10 Easy Steps
To Register for the
Advanced Water Treatment Program:
1. Decide
which AWTT class(es) you would like to take.
- Tuesday & Thursday 6-10pm
- Saturday 8am-5pm
- A Friday class may also be offered if necessary
2. Get your money together to pay for
the .
If you need financial assistance for the program, you will
need to begin the process for finaincial aid as soon as
possible. It is best to apply early. (Note: It takes approximately
2 months for the funds to be approved.)
To apply for financial aid you must:
- Locate your tax return for the previous year.
- Contact the Financial Aid Department at 210-318-2100 for
assistance.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) for the current academic year (i.e. 2003-2004).
We highly recommend that you apply online at .
This process is much faster.
- You may want to inquire about the Federal Stafford Loan.
3. Enroll at Northwest Vista College.
If you have previously attended Northwest Vista College,
you are considered a "continuing" student and
can skip the following steps. If you are new to Northwest
Vista College you must:
- Pick up admissions paperwork at the Learning Center circular
desk or the Student Success office, MZH 106.
- Fill out the paperwork and turn it in to the Manzanillo Hall circular desk.
- Check in with the Testing office at 210-348-2020 about
any necessary placement tests.
- Have an official copy of your high school transcripts
or GED scores sent to Admissions and Records. If applicable,
also have your college or university transcripts sent to
Admissions and Records. Note: Your financial aid
cannot be processed if transcripts are not on file.
4. Meet with an Advisor.
Bring your placement test results with you. Ask about New
Student Orientation classes. Your advisor will help you
with the final steps of admissions and enrollment at the
College.
5. Register for you classes on-line,
by phone, or with an advisor.
Note: It can be difficult to see an advisor during regular
registration periods. Many students choose to visit the
advising office before registration begins and then register
by phone or on-line.
6. Pay for your classes at the Business
Office.
Payment for tuition is due two weeks before classes begin.
If you are unable to pay, you must have your financial aid
in order. All sutdents are personally responsible for tuition
and fees.
7. Touch base with the Financial Aid
office after you have enrolled in classes
to make sure that all of the paperwork is complete
for your loan or other financial aid arrangements.
8. Pick up a receipt of payment from
the Business Office prior to attending
class. If you are on financial aid or have third-party
billing, you must pick up a voucher from the Business
Office.
9. Pick up textbooks.
Water Treatment textbooks will be issued to the student
by his/her instructor on the first day of class. You must
either have your receipt of payment or your financial aid
voucher with you when you are issued your textbook.
Note: No one will be allowed to attend calss, after
the first class session, without the textbook.
