Earn Your Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) at NVC!

The Microsoft IT Academy at Northwest Vista College has these main objectives:

  • Offer a world-class Microsoft curriculum to educate students on vital technologies.
  • Provide wide-ranging online resources for anytime, anywhere learning and collaboration.
  • Enable students with the real-world abilities needed for career success.
  • Support employers and communities with a workforce of skilled Microsoft professionals.
  • Create learning resources for students and faculty that support lifetime career development.

The following classes are offered at Northwest Vista College for students interested in pursuing their MCSA and/or MCSE certification. The MCSA certification requires the following four classes marked with an *. All seven classes are required for the MCSE certification.
*ITMT 1340 – Managing Windows 2003 Server Environment (70-290)
*ITMT 1300 - Implementing and Supporting Windows XP Professional (70-270)
*ITMT 1350 - Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure (70-291)
ITMT 2300 - Planning, Implementing, and Maintaining a MS Windows Server 2003 Active Directory Infrastructure (70-294)

ITMT 2330 – Planning and Maintaining a MS Server 2003 Network Infrastructure (70-293)
ITNW 2356 – Designing a Windows Server 2003 Active and Network Infrastructure (70-297)
*ITMT 2046 - Administering Security Windows Server 2003 Network (70-299)) or (CompTIA Security+ certification)

Students pursuing the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification can apply that certification to the MCSA elective in place of ITMT 2046.
