Tenure-track faculty at Northwest Vista College in San Antonio, Texas, followed his MFA (UCLA) with 5-years of research and project development in cultural studies and theatre practice in Quito, Ecuador.  Included among this time was 3 years of service in the Peace Corps.  Among other work, he founded the internationally renowned cultural educational program Eternal Quito (“Quito Eterno”), developed the Mestizo Theatre of Quito (“El Teatro Mestizo de Quito”) with the Bolivar Theatre Foundation and lectured/researched under a Fulbright Scholar Grant.  He taught and led workshops with numerous universities, including Universidad Central and Universidad San Francisco de Quito, working in both the Theatre Arts and Education programs.  He is actively involved with Pedagogy and Theatre of the Oppressed organizations and is currently working on a book entitled El Mito de Nuestra Identidad, to be published in Ecuador by mid-2007.    

Mellissa Marlowe is a native San Antonian who has appeared in and directed many local stage productions.  Most recently, she appeared in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot for AtticRep at Trinity University and directed a new adaptation of Lysistrata for the Renaissance Guild at Jump-Start Theatre in 2005.  Mellissa holds a B.A. in Drama from Trinity University, and an M.A. in Theatre with a concentration in directing from Texas State University. In 2000, she began teaching at St. Mary’s University, but left in 2005 to become an instructor of Drama at Northwest Vista College.  At Northwest Vista, Mellissa teaches Acting I & II, Introduction to Theatre, and Oral Interpretation.  Off-campus, she directs for the Gallery Theatre program at the Witte Museum, through which she has been invited to perform and present at state and national museum conferences. She is a founding season member and the current Artistic Director of the Shoestring Shakespeare Company, and she is currently directing  The Taming of the Shrew for Shakespeare in the Park 2007 at the San Antonio Botanical Garden.  Mellissa is married to SAC counselor/singer-songwriter David Rodriguez, and they have one beautiful child, performer-in-training, Paulina Esperanza.

Christine Godin grew up in a theatre family in Massachusetts. She studied English and Theatre at UMass and also has a master’s in Library Science from the University of Iowa. In addition to performing on stage for the Harlequin Dinner Theatre at Fort Sam, she also acts, directs and serves on the board of governors for Boerne Community Theatre. Christine is due to graduate in May 2007 with a second master’s degree, in Theatre, from Texas State University in San Marcos. She may also look familiar to students because her full time job is Director of Learning Resources here at NVC.
