Mission

While learning a passion for the theatre arts, the drama program at Northwest Vista College seeks to kindle the fire of life-long learning.  In our ever-changing, technological world, educating the human is often forgotten.   We believe in cultural understanding, social responsibility and self-awareness; and we recognize the importance of drama as an approach for learning and practicing creativity, communication, collaboration and critical thinking.

Vision

We strive to become a revolutionary theatre arts program, responding to our community’s needs by educating its citizens to be more creative, aware and responsible. 

Objectives

Students who complete our various courses and/or participate in our many extracurricular projects will:

• Develop a passion for the theatre as both an art form and a mechanism for growth, expression and change
• Become more creative in all aspects of life 
• Appreciate how the theatre arts is applicable to our everyday lives
• Develop skills in collaboration, communication and critical thinking
• Acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to continue theatre studies at a 4-year university
