1. Complete
Your Dual Credit Application |

Please
be aware that the final deadline to submit your
application for the
2007-2008 Dual Credit Program is April 30, 2007.
FIRST TIME DUAL CREDIT
- If you are applying to participate
in the Northwest Vista College Dual Credit Program
for the first time, you must complete a . Be sure to read the

the application. Access to the web admissions
application is not available 24/7. Access hours
are: Monday - Thursday 7am-10pm, Friday 7am-6pm,
Saturday 8am-1pm, Sunday N/A.
OR
CURRENT DUAL CREDIT STUDENTS
- If you are currently enrolled in Dual
Credit for 2006-2007, you are not required to
complete a Web Admissions Application. However,

liaison. We recommend making a copy for your personal

3. Residency
and Other Supporting Documents |
|
DEPENDENTS OF ACTIVE
DUTY MILITARY PERSONNEL - If your parent/legal
guardian is active duty military, you must submit
a each year. It will require
information from your sponsor parent/legal guardian
and he or she will need to have it certified at
their military duty station. Once the form has
been completed, submit it to your high school
liaison. If your parent/legal guardian is assigned
in a state other than Texas, contact your NVC
liaison to determine what is needed.
NON-U.S. CITIZEN STUDENTS
- Dual Credit applicants who are not
U.S. citizens need to provide current proof of
immigration status. If this applies to you, please
provide a copy (front and back) of your residency
documentation (such as a Permanent Resident Alien
card) to your high school liaison. Contact your
NVC liaison if you need help with this.
NON-U.S. CITIZEN PARENT/GUARDIANS
- If the parent/legal guardian upon whom
you are basing your residency is not a U.S. citizen,
you need to provide current proof of their immigration
status as well. If this applies in your case,
please provide a copy (front and back) of your
parent/legal guardian’s residency documentation
(such as a Permanent Resident Alien Card) to your
high school liaison. Contact your NVC liaison
if you need help with this.
OTHER DOCUMENTS - On
specific occasions, your NVC liaison may contact
you to request additional supporting documents
not listed here to verify your residency. If you
fail to provide those documents, your application
will be considered incomplete. |

4. Transcripts,
Testing and Scores |
|
TRANSCRIPTS - Northwest
Vista College will need a copy of your current
high school transcript. Your NVC liaison will
request your NISD high school transcript (including
any test scores on file) from the Registrar on
your behalf. However, your must first be on
file. If NVC is unable to obtain your transcript,
you may be asked to request it directly from the
Registrar. Home school transcripts must be notarized
to be considered official.
Private school students must
submit a sealed, official transcript from their
high school registrar's office. Home school students
must submit a notarized home school transcript.
TESTING – All
students attending a Texas public institution
of higher education must comply with requirements. If
you are not already TSI-exempt based on available
SAT, ACT, or TAKS scores, you will need to test
in order to determine your eligibility for the
Dual Credit Program. Although other exams may
be taken (such as the THEA or QT), the most convenient
is the Accuplacer. The Accuplacer is a web-based
alternative-THEA exam offered by Northwest Vista
College. Students must know their Social Security
Number, present a picture I.D., and pay a fee
of $15.00 for the exam.
TEST SCORES - All
applicable Accuplacer, THEA, QT, SAT, ACT, and
TAKS scores must be on file with Northwest Vista
College in order to determine your eligibility
to participate in the Dual Credit Program. In
most cases, official SAT, ACT and TAKS scores
will already be on your high school transcript.
If you test with Northwest Vista College, we will
already have your scores on file. If you test
at another college, you need to submit an official
copy of your test scores to Northwest Vista College.

5. Deadlines
|

NISD HIGH SCHOOLS
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT APPLICATION,
CONSENT AND OTHER DOCUMENTATION
Varies by high school, check
with your High School or NVC liaison.
This deadline is usually earlier than the final
NVC deadline of April 30, 2007.
DEADLINE TO TEST
APRIL 30, 2007
It is your responsibility to
ensure that all requirements are met by the deadline.
Missing or incomplete documents will prevent you
from being considered eligible for participation
in the Dual Credit Program and you will not be
registered. If you have questions about any of
the requirements stated above, please contact
your NVC liaison.
HOME AND PRIVATE SCHOOL
STUDENTS
Students must meet the published
registration deadlines each semester and are encouraged
to apply as early as possible.
The Fall 2007 Dual Credit Web Admissions Application will
be available beginning mid March.
Applications will not be accepted for Spring 2007
after April 30, 2007.

6. Check
Your High School Course Card, Schedule and Roster
|
|
DOUBLE-CHECK - Make
sure your 2007-2008 high school course card indicates
that you will be enrolling in the Dual Credit
classes for which you are applying. Also, check
your class schedule to make sure your Dual Credit
classes are listed (example: American History
AP DC). Finally, once in your Dual Credit
class, ask your instructor to verify that you
are on the Northwest Vista College roster, which
is separate from the high school roster. If you
decide to from your Dual Credit course,
