Math Tutoring
Services:
If you are struggling in your developmental math course and need help
developing a strategy for success, or if you just need to brush up on a
specific topic like fractions just come by JH-316.
Here are some of the services we offer:
- Tutor students
struggling with the beginning of the semester review
- Help students
catch up on missed work due to an absence
- Support students
who have failed a test
- Help students
develop strategies for more successful test taking
- Coach study
skills, help make note cards
- Encourage students
to persist
- Create a quiet
place for students to finish a quiz or test
- Provide a
centralized easily accessible place to explore issues which may
interfere with math performance
- Develop strategies
for students who struggle with learning
- Allow students who
need to transfer from one class to another to have access to a
tutoring bridge
- Help students as
they transition into College Algebra
- Counsel students
during pre and post registration periods, and give guidance when
students want to drop a math course
