Bio/Teaching Philosophy
One of my roles as an instructor of psychology is to facilitate students’ learning of core psychological concepts. My specific goals, however, go beyond simply providing you with an overview of the subject matter. I want you to have a meaningful learning experience that is exciting and personally relevant, enriching your life and those with whom you communicate and, thus, furthering your desire for lifelong learning.

Two of my tasks in this endeavor are to provide you with real-world examples that support your learning by making it real to you as an individual and to provide you with opportunities to learn how you can incorporate psychological concepts into everyday life experiences. Given that psychology involves the study of human behavior, you bring part of the material to courses when you bring your experiences and your willingness to learn new perspectives.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Northwest Vista College team, and I hope that you will take advantage of all the resources available to you as a student. May your best day be today!
