Bio/Teaching Philosophy
The main reason why I began teaching is that I enjoy psychology, and wanted to share something I loved with others. I was lucky to have many amazing teachers, and my goals are to create interest in psychology and demonstrate the utility of it to my students as they did. My teaching philosophy is derived from those goals. I believe education should be a bidirectional exchange between teachers and students where students learn the concepts in ways they can apply as soon as they leave the classroom (and even while they are in it). I don’t believe we should only be teaching concepts, but instead assisting our students in applying those concepts to understand the behaviors and metal processes of themselves and those around them.

I spend most of my time outside of school with my husband, stepson, and two dogs. During quiet time I enjoy reading, watching movies, playing word games, knitting, and going to concerts.
