What should I do before signing up for NVC 101: Wildcat Welcome?
You should:
- Submit a complete NVC Online Web Admission Application.
- Submit a sealed, official high school transcript with graduation date. If you have not graduated, you may attend a session having submitted an unofficial high school transcript. An official transcript with graduation date must be submitted prior to the end of the first semester of enrollment.
- Complete any testing requirements, including the Texas Success Initiative (TSI). Please contact the NVC Testing Center at (210) 486-4346 if you need additional information.
How do I make an appointment to attend a NVC 101: Wildcat Welcome session?
Sign up for NVC 101: Wildcat Welcome in person at the Wildcat Welcome Center in the Cypress Campus Center on campus, by contacting the NVC Information Resource Center at (210) 486-4000 or click here to Register Online.
Am I required to attend a NVC 101: Wildcat Welcome session before enrolling in classes?
Yes. The NVC 101: Wildcat Welcome session addresses information that is needed to enroll in courses at NVC. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive assistance regarding registration before leaving the session.
What happens in NVC 101: Wildcat Welcome?
A group advising session is presented by an academic
advisor and is limited to less than 25 students each.
The session is typically 2 hours and 15 minutes in length and
you should leave the session with the following information:
- How to interpret your test scores and determine
how they will apply to your course selection
- Understand the different course and program options
available at NVC
- Understand how to select a degree plan and/or use
a transfer plan
- Know your role in understanding college policies
and requirements, which are key to your success
- Know about different services and resources available
on campus
- Know how to choose and register for a Student Development
course
- Feel empowered to register for your remaining courses
