IMPORTANT: The loan process is long and complex. You must read and follow these instructions thoroughly.
How the process begins: Before you apply for a loan, begin the financial aid application process by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA). Check below to see if you are ready to apply for a loan.
If you have NOT completed a FAFSA ...
Stop Here! Return to the Student Financial Services homepage to apply for financial aid. Then come back and follow the rest of the instructions.

 
If you have COMPLETED a FAFSA...

Follow the instructions below to check your status. Remember that once we have all the documents we need, it takes three to six weeks for your application to be processed.

 

  • Click on the "Check Financial Aid Application Status" , link below
    after you read the rest of these instructions.

  • Enter your SSN and 4 digit PIN.

  • Click on Personal Financial Aid Information and select award year 2006 to view Fall 2005 thru Summer 2006.

  • Click on Award Information by year to view aid offered to you. If you have not already accepted a loan this year, accept now. The award information page has a section for messages. Make sure you scroll down to the message section whether you have a loan award or not. If your loan was denied, you will find a related message in this section.

IMPORTANT: After you check on your status, close the window and return to this page. You will need to come back to this page to click on the "Ready to Start the Loan Process" button below in order to begin the loan process.
