The Texas Administrative Code has developed the Dual Credit program for high school juniors and seniors. Exceptions may be made for 10th grade students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and capability (as evidenced by grade-point average and assessment indicators)
10th Grade
One tuition-free class in the fall and one tuition-free course in the spring, or one year-long tuition-free course, with an approved application to take Dual Credit courses as a sophomore.
Pre-Calculus/Analytic Geometry
Spanish III
Business Computer Application
Introduction to Computer and Information Systems
Introduction to Multimedia
11th and 12th Grades
A maximum of two tuition-free Dual Credit courses during a regular fall or spring semester selected from available courses.
Students may apply to enroll in a third class if all criteria are met.
If the third class is approved, the student will be responsible for the tuition and fees at the regular rate listed in the NVC catalog.
Successful completion of one full year in the Dual Credit program.
Minimum Dual Credit GPA of 3.0.
No grade of “C” or below in any Dual Credit class.
No grade of “W” in any dual credit class.
