Mission Statement:
Northwest Vista College Health Services promotes the health of the community by empowering students, faculty and staff to take ownership of their health through patient-centered wellness, prevention and disease management services with compassion, integrity and respect.
Northwest Vista College Health Services Health Promotion Purpose Statement:
“Health promotion is the science and art of helping people change their lifestyle to move toward a state of optimal health. Optimal health is defined as a balancep of physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and intellectual health. Lifestyle change can be facilitated through a combination of efforts to enhance awareness, change behavior and create environments that support good health practices.” (O’Donnell, 2009). We at NVC Health Services participate in this definition of Health Promotion.
