Let me introduce myself. My name is John Brooks Dunn and I teach Computer Science and Computer Information Systems Courses at Palo Alto Community College in San Antonio, TX. We use the Windows Operating System for all of our classes. It is a real pleasure and privilege to be able to offer Windows classes to those of you that work in an IBM compatible world.

My background consists of a Master's Degree in Information Systems and 21 years of practical experience maintaining and programming computers. It all started back in 1974 during my sixth year in the Air Force when I was selected to be a computer maintenance technician. After an intensive 6 months of 8 hours a day training, I went to Berlin, Germany to work on the Burroughs main frame systems there and then on to San Vito, Italy for another 3 years to do the same. When the old IBM 8088 came out in 1981 I was extremely interested in them and learned all I could. I retired from the service in 1990, and taught the Computer Maintenance Module for ITT Tech. for 9 months and finally landed the job I wanted at Palo Alto College in August of 1990 and have been here since.

I am engaged to the lovely Kathryn Cross, and have three children (all grown) and eight grandchildren. I am blessed with a wonderful family and a job I dearly love, but my life-long passion has been riding motorcycles I have been riding almost daily since I was 13 years old (over 45 years now!) and have accumulated over 800,000 miles on two wheels. Those two wheels have been on many makes, starting with Cushman scooters, Harleys, Triumphs, Hondas, Yamahas, and finally BMWs. I have ridden through Europe, the Philippines, Thailand, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, and 47 of the 48 contiguous United States. Oh so many wonderful roads, and so little time . . .

Hope to see you in class or on the road.

John.
