Food Mamagement and Supervision Certification and Recertification (16 Hours)

All establishments in Bexar County that serve food to the public must have a certified food service employee on staff. Successful completion of the 15-hour course at Palo Alto College prepares you to take the required exams to meet the Texas Department of Health, Division of Food and Drug and the City of San Antonio ordinance for food service employees and members. Recertification is required every five years. This program includes methods of proper food storage, techniques for sanitary food service preparation, employee sanitation, pest control, accident prevention, housekeeping management, sanitation regulations and standards, and facility conditions, which contribute to outbreaks of food borne disease.
