CompTIA A+ and Network+ are approved certifications under U.S. Department of Defense Directive 8570.1 on Information Assurance Training, Certification and Workforce Management Implementation.
CompTIA Network+ is also a recognized component of many other technology certifications including the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) program, Novell, Cisco, HP, Lotus and 3Com.
About CompTIA Network+ Certification
CompTIA Network+ Certification is an industry-standard, vendor-neutral measure that certifies the skills and knowledge necessary to install, configure and troubleshoot basic networking hardware, protocols and services. Although not a prerequisite, CompTIA recommends Network+ candidates have at least nine months of experience in network support or administration, along with CompTIA A+ Certification.
A CompTIA Network+ Certified information technology professional’s responsibilities may include:
- Reviewing, planning and evaluating network systems.
- Troubleshooting network systems and recommends improvements to network.
- Providing documentation, project tracking and management reporting.
- Providing tactical input on overall network planning and related projects.
