Accounting Payroll Clerk Certificate
The Accounting Payroll Clerk Certificate is designed for individuals that are interested in preparing payroll or would like to learn a portion of accounting. Students will have the opportunity to prepare an actual payroll register; while learning the processes involved with local and federal tax laws, ledgers, special journals, and employer/employee deductions and contributions. This certificate offers 184 hours of intense accounting and payroll training. Upon successful completion, students will gain the experience and hands on training to prepare payroll and its entirety. Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Students seeking financial assistance are encouraged to submit all paperwork promptly, as it takes 4-6 weeks to process.

Personal Finance
Knowing how to manage your personal finances can help you to become more successful in life. This course will introduce the five step process of financial planning. In addition, individuals will learn to manage consumer credit effectively, the advantages and disadvantages of credit, how to protect your credit and how to correct credit mistakes. Inclusive, this course will cover the basics of investing and how to plan for retirement. Textbook required.

This course offers essential math concepts for any business environment. Students will learn basic math applications such as multiplying fractions, converting decimals to percentages, merchandise markup and markdown, discounts, ratios, and taxes. Students will also learn mathematical short cuts that can be incorporated into VARIES business transactions. Textbook required.

QuickBooks Pro 2007
QuickBooks is the most popular accounting software used by small business owners. This is an introduction to QuickBooks geared to new and existing small business owners. Its main objective is to introduce you to the basic features in QuickBooks and give you an opportunity for hands-on practice. We’ll talk about the types of information you need to track in your business, to enter that information, and track it in QuickBooks. This includes check writing, payroll, and reporting, just to name a few. By the time you complete this course, you will have a good idea of all that QuickBooks offers, you’ll be familiar with the most common tasks, and you will know where to find information about more advanced features.
