Reader/Scribe Services
- Readers read for students who are visually impaired or students
with certain Learning Disabilities. They are the "eyes" for
the student.
- Scribes write for students with certain disabilities
who have difficulty with writing.
They are the "hands" for
the student.
- Reader/Scribes do follow an "Expectation of Conduct" and
are required to stay in their role as a Reader/Scribes.
Reader/Scribes are not tutors and don't offer opinions or advice
on:
- class assignments
- tests or quizzes
- classroom activities/discussions
For example, Reader/Scribes may work in the following situations:
- In the classroom
- During Exams
- In the Library (LRC)
- Reading handouts onto cassette tape
- Describing Videos
