Advising - Former Student Steps

STEP 1:
WELCOME ENROLLMENT CENTER (Applied Technology Center, Rm. 220)
- Submit Application for Admissions online
- Submit college transcripts of schools attended
since last enrolled at Palo Alto College
- If needed, submit appropriate test scores
- If needed, schedule appointment for testing
- Take test & receive scores (writing sample
results may take two weeks)
STEP 2: ONLINE
STEP 3 :GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL ADVISING (Faculy Advisors)
- Meet with Counselor for Group Advisement Session
- Attend group advising session for your major or make appointment for individual advising with faculty advisor/academic department
- Secure list of possible courses for registration
STEP 4: WEB/ IN PERSON (Web for Students)
- Once you have selected your courses from the advising list, determine class times you can attend
- Select appropriate course section and call numbers in order to complete your schedule
- Register for courses following the directions in the class schedule
STEP 5 : BURSAR’S OFFICE (Student Center, Rm. 130) or STUDENT FINANCIAL SERVICES (Applied Technology Center, Rm. 220)
- Pay for classes and secure payment receipt or
- Complete payment plan contract, pay minimum due and secure payment receipt or
- Student on Financial Aid: Access Web for Students log on, then Account Summary to view and print Financial Aid credited.
- Receipt of payment secures your enrollment in classes

- Register for SDEV 0172 (Career and Life Planning)
- Select your courses from the advising list, determine class times you can attend
- Select appropriate course section numbers in order to complete your schedule
- Register for courses following the directions in the class schedule/group session
- Print out schedule and tuition bill
STEP 3: BURSAR’S OFFICE (Student
Center, Rm. 130) or STUDENT FINANCIAL SERVICES (Applied Technology Center, Rm. 200)
- Pay for classes and secure payment receipt or
- Complete payment plan contract, pay minimum due
and secure payment receipt or
- Student on Financial Aid: Access Web for Students, log on, then Account Summary to view and print Financial Aid credited.
- Receipt of payment secures your enrollment in classes
