Mariana Ornelas' Trip to Ireland, Summer 2002
This monastery is in County Clare 9 km from the lovely town of Ennis. The high cross and the church date back to the 12th or 13th centuries. This county was ruled by the O'Briens who in 1318 fought against the |Norman de Clares of Bunratty thus postponing the Anglo-Norman conquest of Clare for over 200 years.
